Navigation in the countryside using skills acquired at bronze level and adding skills required to navigate to features and places some distance from paths and tracks, accurate compass work is required and an ability to use appropriate navigational techniques to go across country in some cases, eg. choosing an appropriate attack point.
I can run courses throughout the year, winter conditions permitting, on dates to suit your requirements. I am not tied to offering courses at weekends only, increasing the flexibility for you as a participant. Please contact me via email or phone to discuss your preferred dates. • All courses can start from your accommodation base or from an agreed meeting point within the Peak District • Bronze courses will be based mainly in the south of the park (White Peak) • Silver Courses will be based on the gritstone moorland of the park (Dark Peak) • I am a qualified Mountain Leader. • Currently I work for Peak District National Park Authority’s environmental education team and within the Peak Park as a freelance outdoor skills instructor. • Whilst the focus will be on delivering and assessing the course content for the award I can offer a wider experience of the Peak Park; it’s geology, human history and flora and fauna. • The courses are non-residential allowing you to find the accommodation that suits you or your groups needs. However, I can recommend to you accommodation within the Dovedale (Bronze courses) and Edale (Silver courses) areas of the Peak District • Prices for my courses are based on one person booking. If you have any questions feel free to email me on email@example.com or phone 07738561421.
